80s Experience

Meet the Band

Steve Fuller – Front Man – Lead vocals

Steve has been involved in the music industry for nearly 30 years. A self taught drummer from the age of 11 he always knew that he wanted to be involved in music. At first he played for fun then along came the 1980’s and the era of the Synth, he was immediately attracted to this new style of music and the equipment. He formed a group in the early 1980’s and started to work the club scene in the east midlands.

In the late 1990’s he bought his first guitar. He set off to entertain the club scene once again, as a solo artist, he turned professional in the late 1990’s. In 1989 Steve formed his own duo Echo 12, who have been very successful in entertaining club land up and down the country.

Steve has a great vocal range and has laid down many backing vocal / harmonies for professional backing tracks and karaoke tracks used in the music industry today.

He is also involved with a tribute show up and down the country to the Everly Brothers where his vocal harmonies are second to none.

She began her training in dance and vocals at a performing arts school, and continued her education at the Leicester college of music. She went on to join girl band Delux in which she did an outside arena tour supporting steps, performing to around 50’000 people a night. She has worked with some prolific writers/producers through different projects and session work including Andrew Frampton (Victoria Beckham)

She joined the 80’s experience 2 years ago, bringing a forgetful, female touch to the show.

Pete Martin – Guitar player

Pete started playing guitar at the age of 15 in 1990. Throughout school he was encouraged to pursue music until 1995 when he was accepted on the Access To Music Course. He graduated in 1997, walking away with the second highest grade in the country. His guitar playing at that time was to a very high level; two of the tutors already had Pete standing in for the regular guitarists in their own gigging bands. One of these bands, ‘Young Guns’ (a 70’s & 80’s party band) was to eventually offer him a full time lead guitarist position. This band worked the UK pub and holiday camp circuit and toured English and American Army bases in Germany. The other band was ‘Till U Drop’, a soul act that played numerous high energy gigs including a surprise birthday party for Gary Lineker.
A few years later Pete was asked to audition for the David Bowie Gene Jeanie tribute band, for whom he completed a summer tour playing in some of the top London venues supporting artists such as Phil Collins.

  .

In 1999 Pete joined the ‘80’s Experience’, an eighties tribute band managed by Scott Mackenzie. This band has worked throughout the UK, Ireland, France and the Middle East and as such, has gained a very highly regarded reputation.
During the day Pete teaches at four Leicestershire schools and colleges. He has also contributed to various musical courses for students at De Montfort University, Leicester.
Currently Pete is regularly performing with a professional vocalist (www.wirelessacoustic.co.uk) in and around Leicester, performing popular rock and pop songs in an acoustic style, in a variety of venues to a variety of audiences.
